To do this successfully we need to ensure that our Security Operations Centre (SOC) is continually monitoring, detecting, protecting, and responding to potential cyber security related incidents that could adversely impact Vector or its external energy sector partners.  We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Cyber Security Operations to take on this task and assist the Chief Information Security Officer in achieving these goals.

About the role
The Head of Cyber Security Operations will manage internal and third-party resources, and will be responsible for:  

  • Overall management of people, process, and technology capabilities within the Cyber Security Operations team
  • Leadership and oversight for the activity within the 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC) including Incident Response and Threat Intelligence capabilities
  • Work collaboratively with the other leaders of the Cyber Security practice
  • Monitor and look for ways to improve processes, systems and platforms.  

Who we are looking for
This key leadership role is an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security professional to join our growing Cyber Security team, and work with ambitious people who are experts in their field.

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:  

  • 2+ years of experience in leadership or management role within a SOC environment.
  • Excellent understanding of major regulatory and industry standards such as NIST and MITRE ATT&ACK framework, and endpoint Detection & Response (EDR/XDR), automation (SOAR/SIEM) and hands on experience with their deployment and management.
  • High level of interpersonal skills for effective team management and collaboration with partners, stakeholders, internal and external customers, and leadership.
  • Ability to communicate complex messages in a simple, clear, and concise manner to various audiences (written and verbal);
  • Project Delivery - Proven ability executing projects in a collaborative, fast paced environment effectively.
  • Experience with incident responses, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, decision making ability and sound judgment.
  • Results-oriented, resilient, and able to meet targets and deliver quality work;
  • Has experience of leading and motivating teams to a set of common objectives.
