What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Lead a team of Cyber Security engineers. Develop, plan, and implement strategies for cybersecurity to ensure whole vehicle compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards such as ISO 21434 and UNR155.
  • Conduct and lead team in TARA risk assessment for whole vehicle.
  • Single point technical contact for vehicle and non-vehicle cybersecurity issues.
  • Provide technical leadership across a cross-functional group of security engineers to develop strategies and processes for end-to-end security of EV/Electrification architecture.
  • Work with outside vendors that specialize in cybersecurity training, TARA requirements development, and validation to assist in achieving vehicle cybersecurity targets.
  • Lead analysis of cybersecurity requirements according to ISO 21434 to draw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations; ensure vehicle design meets ISO 21434 requirements, internal OEM requirements, and other industry cybersecurity standards.
  • Analyze system architectures, identify cybersecurity requirements, and define cybersecurity goals and targets.
  • Identify potential threats related to cybersecurity and implement effective strategies to mitigate these risks associated with electronic systems in vehicles.
  • Perform/support cybersecurity testing on bench/HIL/vehicle environment.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Cybersecurity expert with internal / external certification in ISO 21434 or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity and/or E/E engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Several years of demonstrated progressive experience building and leading technical teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity associated with electronic systems, electric vehicles, and relevant testing methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within established timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $150,000-180,000

Internal leveling code: IC7
